체외진단 의료기기 전문기업 ㈜다우바이오메디카가 지난 10월 28일 토요일 파라다이스시티에서 대한상부위장관∙헬리코박터학회 2023년 추계심포지엄에서 새로운 위 건강관리 메시지를 공개했다. 보건복지부에서 위암을 예방 가능한 암으로 규정했으니 위 검진도 암 조기발견에서 질병 예방에 초점을 맞춰야 한다는 것이다.

이번 심포지엄 강의에서도 위암은 아시아 국가에서 발생률이 높은데 그 중 한국이 유난히 위암 발생률과 사망률이 높은 편이라고 언급됐다. 위암 위험요소인 헬리코박터균을 제균 치료 하면 위암 발생율을 크게 줄일 수 있다고 밝혀졌지만 항생제 내성과 맞춤 치료 어려움 등의 이유로 제균 치료율은 높지 않다고 발표됐다.

In the symposium lecture, it was also mentioned that gastric cancer has a high incidence in Asian countries, of which Korea has an exceptionally high incidence and mortality rate. Although it was found that eradication treatment of Helicobacter bacteria, a risk factor for gastric cancer, can significantly reduce the incidence of gastric cancer, it was announced that the eradication treatment rate was not high due to antibiotic resistance and difficulty in customized treatment.
